Mieruko-chan

見(み)える子(こ)ちゃん(Seer Girl)^A) is a series about a girl name Miko who can see scary spirits – Yūrei and the like. Since she is completely terrified of them, her strategy is to just…pretend they aren’t there, hoping they leave.

Although I found the premise interesting, what really hooked me on the series was Miko. I think she’s one of the bravest characters I’ve ever seen in fiction, becoming a favorite almost instantly. This is because she doesn’t have an absence of fear,^B) but she keeps trudging on despite it.

The anime is episodic until the last coupel’a episodes, which comprise a mini-arc. <wrap spoiler>The older draft of this review mentions a good twist that “got me good”…but I don’t remember anything about this.</wrap spoiler>
