The High Elves of Warcraft are basically just Night Elves who got high on arcane magic from the Sunwell.
Following the events of Reign of Chaos, their kingdom was destroyed and a majority of their population destroyed. They also took part in the Second War.
Past that, the timeline starts diverging because of retcons.
Blood Elves are either the majority or a minority of the High Elven population. More to be written eventually.
