The Yugoslav Wars were, prior to the Ukraine War, Europe’s most recent armed conflict(s). They were a series of civil wars and war wars between the former members of Yugoslavia.
Generally, the wars were an attempt by the Serbs to preserve Yugoslavia (which they controlled). Often in very extreme ways, which has resulted in the Serbs being internationally stereotyped as genocidal maniacs.
