+**Code MENT** is an...[[lb:abridged series]] based on [[lb:codegeass]] created by PurpleEyesWTF. ‘Abridged’ probably isn't the best word to use, because Code MENT goes completely off the rails...being very different from something like [[playground:sao:abridge|SAO Abridged]]. The craziness is so deep that it inspired a sub-genre of abridged series called MENTs or abridgeMENTs.

+The original channel the series was uploaded to suddenly disappeared one day because, apparently, PurpleEyes deleted it in a COVID-fueled fever dream. He has since created a [[youch>UCQzbqr2pXwvfEDgbknnuLkA|new channel]] where he uploads new videos. This year, PurpleEyes released a teaser for Code MENT, meaning the series is going to continue.
+Because the channel disappeared, a guy ended up creating an archive channel where he re-uploaded the entire original series. That guy also started making remastered versions of Code MENT, actively being released.

+I don't really know what I could say, so I'll just say that it's funny, but can be <del>cringe-y</del>. **Nevermind**, I re-watched the entire series recently. The jokes get better over time, but there are still more //good jokes// than there are //cringe-y// ones. Some of the jokes in MENT went on to become more general memes that most people probably don't know came from here...I was shocked when I saw //the scene//. If you know, you know.
+What makes Code MENT especially interesting is that there's an actual plot here...that //fits together//. The characterization of, get this, //characters// remains //consistent// throughout. All this just adds to the comedy - especially since some jokes are dependent upon continuity.
+Code MENT also actually //does// essentially follow the plot of the original series, which also factors into a lot of the comedy. Now, obviously, a lot of the original lore is still discarded, but some jokes like <mark spoiler><q :en>The only person who shoots me is ME! Good luck trying to shoot me WHEN I'M ALREADY DEAD!</q></mark> are based directly on what happens in [[lb:codegeass]].
