+Why have an open status in those places? These places don't have as big of a religious incentive as Europe and the Middle-East to push against the succubus. However, I think that they'd gradually move towards secrecy anyway, because anti-sex //stuff// was still rising in all those places.
+The only place that the above wouldn't immediately apply (that I can think of) is **Japan**. The reason being that Japan didn't really become as 'prudish' and anti-sex as the rest of the world (even their next-door neighbor of China) though it's not known (to me) exactly why this is. My guess is that it was because Japan managed to avoid any significant plague, like the Black Death, which meant that they didn't gain a negative association with it. Though this is also ambiguous, because I can't be true that Japan wasn't anti-sex in the same way as (for example) China.

 Unlike with vampires, I don't think succubi would establish their own states and cities. I //do// think that succubi would establish support networks to help each-other out, but that's about it. And how organized (or disorganized) or hierarchical these organizations would be is not something that I can talk about confidently.

But when I decided to treat their worldbuilding seriously, I found that most female vampires would be nothing like that at all. Then I started wondering what kind of conditions would //actually// guarantee that kind of behavior. Turns out, the succubi //kinda// resemble that, but in a strange way.

+Recently, I was reading the [[lb:cod:daeva.clanbook]] clanbook and it filled me with some inspiration, so I might actually finally get to fixing up and redoing this article sometime in the near future.
+Anyway, in the Daeva clanbook there's a moment where a Sire tells his 'child' that the best targets (who you can rely on over and over again) are those that have partners and are looking to cheat. The reasoning being that they'll be desperate, think the grass is greener and so on and so forth. This got me thinking whether Succubi would think like this as well.\\
+It may be shocking to read but, as a relative //good boy//, I didn't actually consider this outside of assuming it would be a bad idea.
+So what do I think after thinking about it? I think that succubi (and, by extension, vampires as well) would actually avoid creating adulterous relationships.

+The connection between milk and semen is well-known and well-understood by scholars. How that relates to succubi, however, is another matter entirely.
+I had read somewhere (and need to verify it) that you could prevent yourself from a succubus attack by placing some milk next to your bed. The succubus would mistake that for semen and drink it instead. I have no idea how that makes any sense, but it's silly enough that it could be integrated into world-building.\\
+That's the explanation for the quote above. I thought that it might be more efficient to place a note next to the bed instead, pointing the succubus to the fridge. But I realize now that that doesn't make a lot of sense unless you have a glass of milk pre-prepared.
+Japan sometimes makes the connection more explicit. There was a manga I read once where succubi could explicitly drink milk instead, and it was just as sustainable for them.((:fn:>Unfortunately that manga ended up just becoming a story about a god-like cow that can eat anything.))

+It's just kinda assumed the succubi are master seductresses that are capable of mind-blowing sex...but, let's actually think about that for a minute.\\  Succubi are supernatural beings with magical abilities...so, why //should// they be good at the sex thing?\\  For all we know, succubi could just use their abilities to make their victims //think// that they're mind-blowing sexy seductresses when, in reality, succubi are less experienced than nuns in the matters of sex. They probably know penetration (assuming that's the only way they can get //life juice//) but that might be the limit. There really isn't any reason they need to train to be good at sex. Combined with the dream thing...yeah, it just seems reasonable to assume they're all completely hopeless.
