ParaPara

パラパラ(ParaPara) is a type of dance that originated in Japan.

ParaPara is most heavily associated with Eurobeat and its derivatives (like Hyper Techno).

Though I’m not 100% sure about the history…I don’t think ParaPara originated with Eurobeat but originated around the same time…then it attached itself to Eurobeat, becoming forever linked from then on.^A)

And, well, ParaPara is also heavily associated with Gyaru.^B)

ParaPara – at least from the commercial videos I’ve seen – has this effect where I can’t help but smile when I watch them. I can’t help but bounce along with them. The dancers always look like they’re having so much fun doing it too. And it helps that it’s all Eurobeat (the most energetic of genres).
