-Paycheck falls under what I call 'silly action', which are action films that don't take themselves too seriously. Sadly, this type of film seems to have died out and was only really a thing in the 90s/2000s. Other films that I'd place under this label include //Face/Off// (naturally), //The Rock//, //Demolition Man// and //The Punisher//.\\  The plot is pretty solid and it all somewhat fits together.
