Greek Mythology
Greek Mythology, also referred to as ‘Classical Mythology’, is the mythology of the ancient Greeks.
The term ‘Classical Mythology’ is used to also include the Romans. Though I’ve never heard about anything that is explicitly Roman. Everything I’ve heard is focused around the Greeks.
Media Depictions
Appleseed
Appleseed has very surface-level references to Greek Mythology…mostly by borrowing names. Basically every name originates from Greek Mythology.
Chronicles of Darkness
Vampire: The Requiem includes super antagonists called the ‘Strix’ which are originally derived from a Roman vampiric owl creature…thing. I think.
There are almost certainly more derivations from Greek Mythology, I just don’t know what they all are.
There’s also Promethean: The Created which references Greek Mythology with the name. But I don’t know if there’s anything else of note there.
Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai
The goddess arc of Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai makes the references to Greek Mythology. The goddesses are named after deities from Greek and Roman Mythology. Though I’m not sure if there are any more overt references. I might notice later.
Persona
There are definitely some references to Greek Mythology in Persona, but I won’t bother looking into it until later.
Toaru Project
Toaru Project probably has some references to Greek Mythology, though I can’t remember any. I’d find it strange if there were none at all.
Then again, Toaru is more concerned with Science, Abrahamic religion and esotericism.
WarCraft
Warcraft’s dryad is pretty obvious and…that’s all I can think of.
World of Darkness
There’s a game-line called ‘Orpheus’ though I know nothing about it. I’m just mentioning it.
