Apotheon
Apotheon is a metroidvania with a Greek Mythology theme attached to it. It’s notable in the fact that it has an interesting story that was clearly built by people who were fans of Greek Mythology.
Speculah & Analysis
Nikandreos
The start of the game reveals that the protagonist – Nikandreos – is actually the bastard son of Hera…the only bastard child she has. Her intent was to use him to get revenge on Zeus for his constant womanizing.
While this is a very interesting idea, it’s also out-of-character for Hera to do this due to the fact she’s the Goddess of Marriage and her issue with Zeus’ constant shenanigans was that he wasn’t being a dutiful husband. It would be unusual for her to, y’know, break the vow as well.
Though I wouldn’t necessarily call it morally wrong due to the simple fact the marriage vow is rendered null by Zeus’ everything.
