Arthurian Legend
This is a catch-all to refer to all of the legends, stories and whatnot surrounding King Arthur and his many knights.
Arthurian Legend has a lot of influence from Celtic Mythology,A) which is obvious in some cases and less obvious in others. The Lady of the Lake and Morgan La Fey are both very obvious examples of this influence, with Morgan most likely being a Celtic Goddess.
Personal Note
Like with Greek Mythology, I’ve had an interest in Arthurian Legend since I was young…but not as much as with Greek Mythology. This is probably because I didn’t even get a book on Arthurian Legend, so I was stuck with the Disney filmB) and an audio drama, which I didn’t listen to much.
Though I did later read The Encyclopaedia of Arthurian Legends by Ronan Coghlan. So I know a little more now.
Media Depictions
Code Geass
There are several references to Arthurian Legend in Code Geass. Knightmares and other machines are named after Arthurian Knights (Lancelot, Galahad). There’re a few more, but I’ll fill that in later when I remember what they are.
The Legend of Zelda
The Master Sword often being located in a…stone…is probably an Arthurian reference.
Toaru Project
There are a few references to Arthurian Legend in the Toaru Project which I would be happy to list once I remember what those references are.
The Knights of England are the most obvious one that I can remember. I also think that the entire story arc in England is filled with Arthurian references.
