Democracy
This is gonna be one of the controversial ones until I structure it and even then it’ll still be controversial.
So what controversial thing do I want to say? Well, that democracy is inherently flawed. There are a bunch of flaws with democracy I can point to, but the one I want to highlight is the problem with elections.
Elections actively split the population into multiple camps, that start to compete with each-other. So elections encourage division in a society. And now you understand why so many democratic states are so polarized. This could theoretically lead to far more tyranny than in other forms of government. It’s not a coincidence that the most stable and economically rich democracies are those that are de-facto one party states (Japan, Singapore).
This also makes it easy for outsiders (enemies) to influence insiders, weakening them.
I’ve been opposed to democracy for years now. I would recommend others to take the same position, as there will be no peace until the last democracy falls.
Another issue with democracy is the fact it actively helps create an oligarchy by actively encouraging corruption among the elites.
Most people are stupid, so they often vote for stupid things. Them being stupid also means they’re easier to manipulate, which only exacerbates all of the above issues. Democracies also inevitably end up becoming welfare states, because promising welfare is the easiest way to secure voters, even if the state is physically incapable of providing welfare.
So much of the current world’s suffering can be explained through democracy being in place.
I’m personally a monarchist, as history has shown that the most freedom-respecting, stable, successful and wealthy states have been monarchies. Granted, this is partially because the majority of states thruout history have been monarchies. But the fact monarchies and republics rarely last long and are incredibly rare thruout history in general should be a clue that something is off about the modern day.
